Education

Education is a significant ministry in the life of the Community Church, for we affirm that one is never done growing in the faith. To that end, the Education committee in conjunction with the Pastor and other professionals offers a variety of programs for spiritual growth. In the past we have offered programs such as Islam 101, Handel's Messiah, Lost Christianities, The Parables, Music Appreciation, and The Reformation. We have a number of ongoing weekly programs such as three Bible study groups, a Monday lecture series, retreats, "small groups," and a monthly spiritual themes in literature group.

Bible Studies

We offer a variety of different Bible Study and Small Discussion groups.

  • the historical and Biblical Study Series Led by the Pastor

Pastor Cathy Northrup leads weekly Bible Study Wednesday mornings from 9-10 am in Founders Hall.

Beginning April 24, 2024: The Faithful: Heroes from the Old Testament.”

Borrowing from best-selling studies by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild, this 5-session study explores crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures—Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea. Through their stories, discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for His glory and the good of His people. Strengthen your faith as you walk alongside these larger-than-life figures who all chose to obey God no matter the circumstances. The class will include a workbook for each person.
