Stephen Ministries

The mission of Stephen Ministry is to help congregations equip God's people for spiritual growth and the Christ-centered ministry of providing care to others who are experiencing life’s challenges and trials.

Stephen Ministers initially receive specialized training by Stephen Leaders, maintain continuing education and benefit by peer-to-peer supervision. They are not professional counselors or social workers and their role is only to listen and to care, not to give advice or direction.

Our Stephen Ministry program also helps to coordinate a Grief Support Group, typically held annually in February.

Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL)

Our PAL group consists of parents, grandparents, spouses and relatives of loved ones who are affected by the family disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. They meet every other Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the library.

The group is facilitated by parents who have firsthand experience and share proven methods that allow family members to set boundaries with their addict or alcoholic and reduce the chaos in their lives. They provide education, empathy, and encouragement to everyone in a confidential environment.
