Worship Service

We gather to celebrate worship each Sunday at 8:30 AM, and our special worship services each year include Christmas Eve Candlelight, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunrise in the Garden (at 6:30 am). If you would like to participate in our services, click the Volunteer link above.

Our worship is glorified by inspiring musical accompaniment. Click the links above to learn about our music program.

Weekly Prayer Meetings
All are invited to join a group that gathers in prayer weekly on Wednesdays in the chapel from 3:00 to 4:00 pm (except from May through October). We pray for specific concerns of friends, family, our community and the church as well as the present situation in the nation and the world.
We often begin by sharing things going on in our lives and in the lives of people we know and care about. We sometimes reflect on scripture to emphasize how God's word enhances our prayers, or sing a hymn to lead us into prayer. After a time of prayer, we close by joining together in the Lord's Prayer.

For more information on our group or to submit a prayer request, click the Contact button below. If you prefer to Contact our Pastor directly or send a confidential message, call 480-471-7239 and select Option 1 or email pastor@verdefaith.org.

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

Holy Communion

Each month we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion using a traditional liturgy. To celebrate the Unity in Diversity that is our Community Church, we vary the liturgy from time to time using the same form, but adding elements of various denominations. It is the belief of this congregation that none should be excluded from Christ's table, so all who so desire are invited to participate in the Sacrament. To insure that none are excluded from Christ's Table, we offer alcohol free wine and gluten free wafers.

Baptism

A person is incorporated into the Universal Church, the Body of Christ, through the sacrament of Baptism. The water, words, and actions of the sacrament are visible signs that convey the Christian's new birth in Christ; it is both God's gift and our human response to that gift as well as a sign and seal of our common discipleship.

At the Community Church of the Verdes we baptize both children and adults, and recognize that Baptism with water and the Holy Spirit is the mark of that person's acceptance into the care of Christ's church, the sign and seal of their participation in God's forgiveness, and the beginning of their new growth into full Christian faith and life.
