Evolution and Design

The Community Church of the Verdes was established in 1980.  Early services were first conducted in the Rio Verde Country Club, and later in the original Rio Verde Community Center building.  The church site was purchased in 1987 and ground breaking began shortly thereafter. The original church was dedicated in January of 1989 and the following year, a Memorial Garden was added to the church property.

As church membership grew, a Church Expansion Committee was formed in 1997 to design a new campus with a 500 seat Sanctuary, a 100 seat Chapel, and a large courtyard. These buildings were dedicated in April 2000.

Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is a welcoming space designed for worship, reflection, and spiritual growth.  We host many of our events in the Sanctuary including weekly worship, special services for Christmas Eve, Easter Sunday and other significant occasions.  It has a maximum capacity of 500 and can serve overflow crowds by sending chancel sound to the Chapel and the courtyard.

The Sanctuary includes modern audio and video services making this a wonderful location for weddings and other ceremonies of faith and community business. Whether attending services, engaging in fellowship, or seeking quiet reflection, the sanctuary serves as a cornerstone for faith and community.

Founders' Hall

Founders' Hall is used for fellowship after worship on Sunday, as well as for a variety of church functions.  Within Founders' Hall, there is a pastor's office, large administrative office and work area, a kitchen, and additional meeting/office spaces.  There is also a room for Children's Sunday School (which doubles as a mission project room) as well as a formal Board Room.

Another essential space is our library, a resource center of Christian literature dedicated to spriritual study and growth. It houses various books, Bibles, commentaries, theological works and historical texts. The library, also, serves as a private meeting room.

Chapel

The Chapel at the Community Church of the Verdes offers seating for approximately 75 people, making it an ideal setting for intimate gatherings and private events. In addition to its primary use for smaller occasions, the Chapel also serves as an overflow space for the main sanctuary during larger services or special events, allowing the church to accommodate additional attendees while maintaining a welcoming and reverent atmosphere.
